Single sign-on is the core way to authenticate software for most modern businesses. The employees inevitably access many applications within an organization to perform their jobs. Accessing these applications from remote locations adds more challenges to the organization’s IT security as they cannot control logins and enforce the password requirements. Managing credentials for each application by users also poses a severe security threat.
SSO is an authentication process that secures enterprise applications with your organization’s credentials and leverages your company password requirement policies. A cyber security team can monitor security threats for unauthorized access, insecure passwords, and a central system’s expired accounts. They can also implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Two Factor Authentication (TFA), which requires additional verification factors that decrease the likelihood of a successful cyberattack when passwords are compromised.
Getting started with the SpatialKat online sign-in options:
- Built-in login – User credentials can be created and managed within the SpatialKat user management console. The strong password requirements are enforced to keep your information safe.
- Windows Authentication – A Windows authenticated user can access SpatialKat without a login prompt. IT can grant SpatialKat access to a set of Windows users or user groups and has complete control over the roles and responsibilities of these users and user groups.
- SSO – We are pleased to announce that SpatialKat now supports SSO. The SpatialKat simple built-in password is no longer needed, and maintaining user management from SpatialKat can be eliminated. Users can use their organization’s credentials to access the SpatialKat application from any device or location without compromising enterprise security.
Currently, SpatialKat SSO supports a variety of identity providers like Azure and Okta. We can work with your organization to integrate any identity provider on our hosted solutions.
Benefits of using hosted SpatialKat SSO:
Improved productivity
- Minimizing the usage of usernames and passwords for users
- Avoiding the tedious process of creating individual users for each application
Improved Security
- The central place for authentication control
- Can implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or Two Factor Authentication (TFA)
